A pioneer in healthy living during the 1800s and founder of
Allinson Bread, Thomas Allinson was a man ahead of his time who
believed that many ailments could be cured by a good diet and
exercise. He also believed that wholesome, high quality, good
tasting food made for better living. Today, Allinson continues to
champion his philosophy and is unveiling a brand new look and a new
product to celebrate the very best of Thomas Allinson's beliefs
with the innovation of the 21st century.
Inspired by traditional Sourdough, Allinson has created a wholesome
modern version that's pre-sliced for your convenience. With the
benefits of whole grain, NEW Brown Batch with the taste of
Sourdough is made with a blend of wholemeal and white flours and
has a delicious tangy sourdough taste. What's more, it's free from
artificial preservatives; just two slices a day provides you with
65% of your daily whole grain[i].
As with the rest of the Allinson bread range, new Brown Batch with
the taste of Sourdough is batch baked. This produces bread which
not only tastes irresistibly moreish but has a beautifully soft
texture as well, making it a delicious alternative to other sliced
breads. Providing an added depth of flavour Allinson Brown Batch
with the taste of Sourdough can be enjoyed toasted, in a sandwich
or in savoury and sweet bread-based recipes.
Allinson's new Brown Batch with the taste of Sourdough is available
from Morrisons from August 2011 and from Asda and Sainsbury's in
September 2011, priced from £1.39 (prices may vary per
supermarket).
